PREPARATION FOR BED BUGS TREATMENT

Preparation of apartment/house in term of bedbugs extermination is very important. The better the preparation, the best chances are the extermination of bed bugs from premises in one shot.  

BEFORE TREATMENT

Bedroom (s)

  • Remove all pillows and linen sheet from the bedding area
     

  • Remove mattress from the wooden frame and stand them with the wall (vertical direction) 
     

  • Clear baseboards area (2 - 4) feet away from the wall so that all baseboards are to be treated
     

  • Empty all closets put clothing in a plastic bag and leave these bags in the middle of the room
     

  • Remove cushion from chair or love seat (if any) and flip the bedroom love seat 

Living Room

  • Drag furniture away from the wall for at least 1-2 feet 
     

  • Flip couches in the living room so that we treat all possible hidden spots for bed bugs
     

  • Remove fish tank/pets (if any)
     

  • Don't move any of your belongings to another home during or after treatment unless you know that they are not infested

Electrical & Phone Connection Plates Removal

  • Remove face plates of electrical outlets and phone plugs plates
     

  • In most scenarios bed bugs hide inside and not get treated.  

AFTER TREATMENT

  • Wash all linen sheets, blankets, pillowcases, and other bedding in hot water
     

  • Place the items in a dryer set on the highest setting that won't damage the item
     

  • Dry the items thoroughly and then place them separate from items that may be infested

TREATMENT LIMITATION

It will be necessary for all residents to remove pets, cover fish tank (s) and stay out of treatment area for approximately 4 – 6 hours after treatment. If the resident is

  • pregnant

  • Infant (baby less than 1 year old)

  • Have any respiratory or medical conditions

 

It is recommended to stay out of unit for 24 hours

 

Once the safety period is over, all treated areas MUST be thoroughly ventilated with fresh air. Resident must make sure that the treated area is ventilated and there is no odor of treatment.
